Vincenzo Orlandini

Vincenzo Orlandini ( born August 30, 1910 in Rome, † October 23, 1961 ) was an Italian football referee. The highlight of his career was the final of the football World Cup in 1954, where he worked as a linesman.

Life

During the Football World Cup 1954 Orlandini also whistled as the referee group match against Scotland Uruguay and the World Cup semi-final between Germany and Austria.

Later, he led major games such as Germany against England in London in December 1954 against Scotland and Yugoslavia in Belgrade in May 1955.

At the World Championship 1958 in Sweden he whistled the first round game of Scotland against Paraguay in group B. In addition, he led during his career total of 235 games in Serie A.

Before his death in 1962 he was referee at several qualifying matches for the first European Championship.
