Vincenzo Paglia

Vincenzo Paglia ( born April 20, 1945 in Boville Ernica, Frosinone, Italy ) is a Curia, Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Vincenzo Paglia was ordained a priest on 15 March 1970 in Rome. He was appointed bishop of the diocese of Terni - Narni- Amelia by Pope John Paul II in 2000. He received his episcopal consecration on April 2, 2000 Camillo Cardinal Ruini.

As a member of the Italian Episcopal Conference, he was president of the Episcopal Commission for Ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue. He is spiritual director of the Community of Sant'Egidio and President of the Catholic Biblical Federation.

On 26 June 2012, he was called by Pope Benedict XVI. personal capacity as the successor of Cardinal Ennio Antonelli President of the Pontifical Family Council and Archbishop ad.
