Vinzenz Guggenberger

Vincent Guggenberger ( born March 21, 1929 in Osterham, community Laberweinting, Lower Bavaria, † July 4, 2012 in Straubing ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and Bishop of Regensburg.

Life

After a humanistic education in Straubing and the subsequent study of philosophy and theology at the Catholic Philosophical- Theological University of Regensburg Vincent Guggenberger was ordained in 1953 by Archbishop Michael Buchberger in the Great Cathedral in Regensburg as a priest. He was a chaplain in ground corn, Wunsiedel and the cathedral parish in Regensburg operates. Bishop Rudolf Graber appointed him to the diocesan pilgrims ladder (1965 ), clergy advisory board of the Women's Federation (1965 ), Cathedral Priest Niedermünster (1971) and canon (1972).

Pope Paul VI. appointed Vincent Guggenberger on 17 May 1972 Titular Bishop of Abziri and auxiliary bishop in Regensburg. He received his episcopal consecration Bishop Rudolf Graber on June 24, 1972. Were co-consecrators the auxiliary bishops of Regensburg Josef Hiltl and Karl wings. His episcopal motto Parare Domino plebem perfectam ( " The Lord prepared a well- tetes people create " ) comes from the Gospel of Luke ( Lk 1.17 EU). Vincent Guggenberger was still the first chairman of the Institutum marianum Regensburg eV. , He spent his retirement in Azlburg monastery in Straubing. He died on July 4, 2012 in Straubing. He was in the parish church of his native parish of St. Peter in Hofkirchen, community Laberweinting, buried.
