History
Around 790 of the monastery Niederaltaich Wihmvntiga ( copy of 1254 ) or Wimtingen (copy of 11th century ) is mentioned in the land register, derived from the personal name Wihmunt. 1292 appears in a document of the Bishopric of Regensburg Laberweimpting, presumably to distinguish it from the Regensburg district Burgweinting. After Laberwei (s) and tig Lober Burgweinting Philipp Apian called the place by about 1579 as Laberweinting.
Laberweinting was closely connected to the Bishopric of Regensburg, has been proven since the 13th century had land in Laberweinting. The old parish Laberweinting was incorporated the cathedral chapter of Regensburg. At Castle Laberweinting, the seat of Hofmark Laberweinting, resided from 1422 to about 1448 the woman Berger. Laberweinting belonged in the Electorate of Bavaria for Rent Office Landshut and the Kirchberg district court. From the tax district Laberweinting went in 1818 to the second municipality edict of the same community out. 1833 sold Graf Montgelas Laberweinting. In the same year Castle Sallach seat of Patrimonialgerichtes Laberweinting and remained so until its dissolution in 1848.
Laberweinting belonged to the district Mallersdorf and was transferred to the newly formed district of Straubing -Bogen 1 July 1972.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, the formerly independent communities Eitting, Grafentraubach and Graßlfing were incorporated. Allkofen, Haader, Hofkirchen ( with several incorporated in 1945 or 1946 places Haimelkofen and Osterham and with the incorporated 1 January 1970 the municipality parts of Asbach ) and Weichs were added on 1 May 1978.

Culture and sights
- In the district of Eitting can get lucky find a Keltenschanze in the forest.
- In Grafentraubach there is a castle of the Counts Seinsheim Sünching.
