History

Wind Mountain was originally the seat of the Counts of Bogen. The local monastery Wind Mountain was founded by Count Albert I of arc, composed of Bishop Otto I of Bamberg beginning of the 12th century. The town itself belonged since the Middle Ages for Rent Office Straubing and the district court Mitterfels of the Electorate of Bavaria. The monastery mountain wind had a closed Hofmark and was dissolved in 1803 in the wake of secularization. The church was the parish church, the Prelature parsonage.
