History

Is mentioned in a document in 1126 Neukirchen first time in a monastery deed of gift of the monastery Oberalteich under the name, Niuenchirichen '. Neukirchen belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Mitterfels of the Electorate of Bavaria.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1976, the then independent municipality Obermühlbach that had more inhabitants than Neukirchen, incorporated.

  • In Pürgl is the branch church of St. Pauli conversion, an epiphany from the year 1712.
