Geographical location

Leiblfing lies in the Donau -Wald at the Aiterach in the southern district of Straubing-Bogen between Straubing and Dingolfing.

There are the districts Eschlbach, Hailing, Hankofen, Leiblfing, Metting, Obersunzing, Schwimmbach and Hainbach.

History

The original landowners of Leiblfing, but also Eschlbach, and Hailing Walting were the Counts of Leonberg. Leiblfing later belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Leonberg of the Electorate of Bavaria.

In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Leiblfing was also known by Anneliese Michel, whose mother came from the site. Although Anneliese Michel was born in Leiblfing (on request of its parent ), they never resided here, but grew up in Klingenberg am Main. Attracted worldwide attention in her tragic death, because in the months before her death occurred two Catholic priests multiply the Great Exorcism on her.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, until then independent municipality Eschlbach was incorporated. On January 1, 1972, added Obersunzing. Hailing Hankofen, Metting and Schwimmbach as well as parts of the territory of the dissolved municipalities Hainbach and Oberpiebing followed on 1 May 1978.

Mayor is Wolfgang Frank (CSU ). He was the successor to Josef Schmid Hammer ( CSU / group of voters ) in 2002.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 1,888,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 381,000.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
