Viscount Rothermere

Viscount Rothermere, of Hemsted in the County of Kent, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by a branch of the Harmsworth family.

Award

The title was created in 1919 for the newspaper magnate Harold Harmsworth. He had made ​​his widely read tabloids at the service of the Allied war propaganda. In addition, he had been temporarily Chairman of the Air Force Council ( President of the Air Council) in government Lloyd George.
