Visions of Atlantis

Visions of Atlantis is an Austrian metal band, which can be classified between Power Metal and Symphonic Metal. Special feature of the strongly reminiscent of bands like Nightwish or Austrian colleagues of Edenbridge in the style of band is it that almost all the songs are arranged as a duet between the female and male vocals.

History

Visions of Atlantis were founded by Werner Fiedler, Mike Koren, Christian Stani, Thomas Caser and Chris Kamper in 2000. A little later came singer Nicole Bogner so. In 2002, the first studio album by the band appeared with the title Eternal Endless Infinity. Back in 2000, a demo was recorded, entitled Morning in Atlantis. In 2003 there was a reshuffle of the band, so left Christian Stani (vocals) and Chris Kamper (keyboard) Visions of Atlantis and Mario Plank ( vocals) and Miro Holly (Keyboard) have been replaced. A year later, the second studio album Castaway appeared. This contains also the title Lost Visions of Atlantis was their breakthrough.

In October 2005, singer Nicole († 2012) left the band for personal reasons. Your post took over the American soprano Melissa Ferlaak ( Aesma Daeva ). A little later Werner Fiedler left this and was replaced by Wolfgang Koch. In early 2006, decided to also Miro Holly, who was responsible for the majority of the music and also for some texts to leave the band and Martin Harb took his place.

Trinity, the third studio album by the band, was released in late May 2007 on Napalm Records. According band statement, the new sound on this album is harder, darker and combines all the band typical trademarks of a bombastic mixture.

On 28 November 2007 Visions of Atlantis announced on their website that singer Melissa Ferlaak and guitarist Wolfgang Koch ( the couple married in May 2008 ) have left the band. A replacement for Wolfgang has already been found: Werner Fiedler, who in 2004 left the band will be present again. As a new singer, the Austrian Joanna Nieniewska was introduced on 1 February 2009 which left the band shortly thereafter due to health reasons. The new singer called Maxi Nil and was already active in the Greek Band On Thorns I Lay. On 25 February 2011, the album Delta, which was promoted during an extended European tour together with Rhapsody of Fire appeared. To the song New Dawn also a video clip was published.

On July 18, 2011 left bassist Mario Lochert due to critical differences the band. Harb said that they wanted to use in the future a solid bass player.

The Visions of Atlantis Lemuria song from the album was Castaway 2011 in Daegu (Korean ) used by the organizers of the World Athletics Championships for the start of the medal ceremonies in parts as the official song.

On 21 October 2011, the EP Maria Magdalena, which (including a cover version of the 80s hit I'll never be Maria Magdalena by Sandra) contains five new songs was released in Europe. On 25 October 2011, the worldwide release followed.

On 6 January 2012, the former singer Nicole Bogner died at the age of 27 after a long illness.

On January 27, 2012, the title of the fifth studio album, which will answer to the name " Ethera ", posted on the Official site of the band. The release of the album is scheduled for 22 March 2013.
