Visuddhimagga

The Visuddhi - Magga ( "path of purity " ) is a major Buddhist works dating from the 5th century AD The treatise of the scholar monk Buddhaghosa is considered the first complete and systematic presentation of Theravada Buddhism. Posted it is in Pali, the literary language of Theravada.

In particular, the second and third parts of the book have in the second half of the 20th century obtained through monastic circles beyond important because some innovator of Buddhist meditation practice (such as Mahasi Sayadaw in Myanmar) appealed to the instructions in the Visuddhimagga and as a direct link between oldest tradition and modern meditation training manufactured.

The Visuddhimagga is the Vimuttimagga ( " path to salvation " ) of Upatissa Thera basis.
