Vitello (crater)

Vitello is an impact crater in the southwest of the Moon front on the southern edge of the Mare Humorum, southeast of the crater Doppelmayer and east of Lee. The irregularly shaped crater is only slightly eroded, the crater floor has concentric fracture structures and a central peak.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Silesian monk and natural philosophers Vitelo.
