Vítonice (Kroměříž District)

Vítonice ( German Witonitz, formerly Wittonitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north of Bystřice pod Hostynem and belongs to Okres Kroměříž.

Geography

Vítonice is located south of the Maleníkwaldes in Podbeskydská pahorkatina ( Vorbeskidenhügelland ). The village extends on both sides of the river Moštěnka. To the north rises the Mezicestí ( 337 m ) east of the Dubecka (335 m ) south of the Křímy (333 m) and in the west of America (302 m).

Neighboring towns are Horni Nětčice and Rakov in the north, Býškovice and Všechovice in the northeast, Horni Újezd ​​in the east, Osicko, Příkazy and Libosváry the southeast, Nový Dvůr and Mrlínek in the south, Sovadina the southwest, Blazice and Žákovice in the west and Žákovský Mlýn and Soběchleby in northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1141 in a freight directory of the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdik. 1381 Vitonicz was enrolled in the Olomouc Landtafel as possession of the Lords von Sternberg. Other owners of the goods belonged from 1480, the Lords of Zerotein and from 1490 Wilhelm von Pernštejna and Helfenstein, the Vitonicz to the rule Helfenstein joined. During the Thirty Years' War the Swedes plundered in 1642 the village and burned it.

After the abolition of patrimonial Wittonice / Wittonitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Holle show. On September 29, 1869, a major fire destroyed 104 houses. From 1872, the municipality bore the name Vítonice and 1900 Vítonice. The current name of locality is Vítonice officially since 1924. After the abolition of Okres Holešov the community in 1960 associated with the Okres Kroměříž. On 1 January 1986 Vítonice was incorporated into Bystřice pod Hostýnem. Since the beginning of 1992 Vítonice is independent again.
