The Spherical pellucida ( Vitrina pellucida ) is a species of snail from the family of glass snails ( Vitrinidae ), which is expected to subordinate Stylommatophora of terrestrial snails ( Pulmonata ).

Features

The housing is spherical and the animal can even adult all the way back into the housing. The housing is 4.5 to 6 mm in size and has 2.5 and 3 turns. It has an open, narrow umbilicus. The shell surface is smooth and glossy; it is thin and translucent; usually it shows a greenish tinge. The soft body is usually gray, head and antennae are usually a bit darker. Life, the occurrence and distribution

The animals live in moist to moderately moist places by forests, meadows, between rocks and grassy dunes. The distribution is Holarctic. In the south it extends to Bulgaria. In the mountains the nature rises to 1550 m.
