Vittorio Caprioli

Vittorio Caprioli ( born August 15, 1921 in Naples, † October 2, 1989 ) was an Italian actor and film director.

Life

Caprioli received his training at the Accademia Nazionale d' Arte Drammatica and debuted in 1942 as a stage actor in the troupe Laura Carli and Corrado Racca. In 1948 he transferred to the Piccolo Teatro di Milano, where he also played under Giorgio Strehler. Since 1945 he had also worked for various programs of the RAI.

In 1950 he founded, together with Franca Valeri and Alberto Bonucci the Teatro dei Gobbi, with which he could end up with both critics and audiences through unconventional productions and innovative pieces successes in the 1950s. In the late 1950s he also achieved a breakthrough as a film actor, mostly in comic roles after he had already adopted from time to time role offers. During his until his death ongoing movie career, he became occasionally even the director.

Furthermore, he was often heard in radio broadcasts; also television work did not fail. In his last years he increased his stage performances.
