Vittorio Colao

Vittorio Colao ( born October 3, 1961 in Brescia ) is an Italian businessman and since 2008 CEO of Vodafone. He has been married since 1992 and currently lives with his wife and two children in England.

Career

A graduate of Bocconi University and Harvard University's elite began his career at McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and the publishing business. The mid-1990s he moved to the mobile industry. In Omnitel (now Vodafone Italy) was Colao 1996-1999 COO and then CEO until July 2004. He then moved to the Italian media group RCS Media Group and the Allianz Group in Italy. Since October 2006, Colao was European head of Vodafone, from 29 July 2008, he was CEO of the company.

Colaos basic salary for his work with Vodafone in 2009 amounted to € 932,000, plus a bonus of 881,000 and additional payments were for example in the form of stock options. In total there were for the year content claims in the amount of 2.264 million. In 2011, this salary claims rose to 14.25 million euros. This Colao was one of the ten top earners in Europe.
