Vittskövle Castle

The Vittskövle Castle is one of the best preserved Renaissance castles in Sweden. It is close to the place Vittskövle, about 20 kilometers south of the town of Kristianstad.

Vittskövle Castle was built around 1550 by the Dane Jens Axelsen Brahe. It is a square, three-storey castle made ​​of bricks, which is provided with two diagonally opposed circular towers. She was fitted to the conquest by Sweden Skåne in 1658 with cannons.

The castle is surrounded by a moat and gardens that were created in the 18th century. The castle was renovated at the beginning of the 19th century. From this period also the interior of the castle.
