Vogel (lunar crater)

26.3

Bird is a small impact crater on the southern hemisphere of the moon. It is located southeast of the crater Albategnius.

Bird is the smallest of a group of three craters, the increase in size towards the south. The other two are named as Argelander and Airy. West is the remnant of the crater Parrot.

On both the northern and on the southern side of the crater rim is interrupted by small crater. Bird B on the northern side is again interrupted at its northern edge of a still smaller crater, so that is a series of interconnected craters here. The remaining parts of the crater rim are quite well preserved.
