Vojtanov

Vojtanov ( German Voitersreuth ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located in the Bohemian part of the Vogtland, three kilometers west of the city Skalná, directly on the border with Germany and belongs to the Okres Cheb on.

Geography

The place is located in the southwest of the Ore Mountains in 540 m asl Neighboring towns are Schönberg in the north, Stary Rybnik and Skalná in the east, the south and Franzensbad Hazlov in the West. To the west lies the abandoned place Otov ( Ottengrün ).

Through the village leads coming from Franzensbad State Road 21, which leads to the border crossing Vojtanov / Schoenberg and the federal road 92. East of the village is the Vojtanov station as a border station on the cross-border railway Plauen- Cheb, which is also used by the Vogtlandbahn.

History

Voitesrewt was first mentioned in 1299 and was at that time the largest village in the Cheb country. 1455 acquired the owner of the rule Seeberg ( Ostroh ), Anna Schlick, the village of Cheb family Voitersreuter. 1660 bought by Anna Schoenaich a part of Voitersreut to their rule Haslau. Parts of the village belonged to the Poor Clares and the Teutonic Order in Eger.

The village, which has never had its own church, was originally gepfarrt to Schönberg and came in 1653 in the wake of recatholicization to the parish in Unterlohma ( Dolni Lomany ). 1684 burned down in a fire seven yards.

An upheaval brought Voitersreuth the construction of the road from Lazne by Bramstedt in 1829 and the construction of Voigtländischen State Railway of Herlasgrün to Eger 1865. As a result, industry moved in, the textile factories of Listner & Buchheim and Huttner were the most significant businesses. In 1900, 562 people lived in Voitersreuth, which belonged to the district court Wildenstein or district Eger from the mid-19th century. By 1937, the population increased to 647

After the Second World War, the German-Bohemian population was expelled. This population loss could not be compensated.

The town lives mainly from the border crossing and shopping tourism. For instance, in Vojtanov inter alia, three gas stations, two barber shops, two described as nightclubs and brothels operated by three Asian markets traders. The customs clearance was set in May 2004 after the EU accession.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Vojtanov Antonínova Výšina ( Antoni height), Mýtinka ( Ross Reuth ) Vojtanov ( Voitersreuth ) and Zeleny Haj ( Hagen Green). Basic settlement units are Mýtinka, Nádražní čtvrť, Přední Vojtanov, Vojtanov and Zeleny Haj.

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Mýtinka u Poustky, Vojtanov and Zeleny Haj.
