Volevčice (Most District)

Volevčice ( German Wolepschitz ) is a dominantly agricultural village of about 70 inhabitants in Okres Most ( Czech Republic). The majority of the population works in the industrial areas of the region.

History

The village was established in the 13th century by way of colonization by German Srpin in the bog area. 1333 was the first written record, as the brothers Lutz Hold, Ratzko and Ahna the village inherited from the father. That same year earned Konrad abbot of the Monastery Ossegg the estate. The village went in 1613 to Wilhelm von Lobkowicz. Shortly after the Thirty Years' War, which left little trace in the village that Count Rottalblick after the death of his wife the farms in 1656 again to Christoph Ferdinand von Lobkowicz was the estate of Anna Maria of Lobkowicz widow who married Count Hans von Rott Valley, so indebted, had to return. This then came under the jurisdiction of Bílina. In case of fire in 1706 twelve farms were destroyed.

Attractions

  • The Church of St. Prokop in the year 1840. Previously here was the Church of St. Havel from the 14th century.
