Volker Fried

Volker Fried ( born February 1, 1961 in Osnabrück ) is a former Cologne hockey player who has played in four consecutive Summer Olympics for Germany.

With the German national team, he won the 1992 gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, ​​his greatest success after winning silver at the two previous Olympics in Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul ( 1988).

Between 1980 and 1996, denied Volker Fried total of 290 caps for Germany. In 1996, he retired after the Olympic Games in Atlanta from the international scene back. After his playing career he became coach of the hockey club HC Düsseldorf.
