Volyňka

The Volyňka ( German Wolinka, also woolen Inca ) is a right tributary of the Otava in the Czech Republic.

Course

The Volyňka rises in the Bohemian Forest on the eastern slope of Svetla Hora (Lichtenberg, 1123 m) in 1032 m height and flows first in a northerly direction. Approximately 500 m below its source the Volyňka is dammed in the small Stauweiher Světlohorská nádrž. About Smrčí, Lipka, Michlův Mlýn, Velky Dum, Brantlův Dvůr Vimperk, Adolfov, Paříž, Výškovice and Sudslavice the Volyňka flows through a narrow, partially bounded by rock walls valley. In Sudslavice located on the right side the nature reserve Opolenec with the cave Sudslavická jeskyně. From Bohumilice the river changes its direction to the east and follow Jirků U, U Smítků, Sedlec, Čkyně, Lčovice and Malenice. The course then leads back to the north, passed Černětice, RACI, Nišovice, Volyně, Přechovice, Hamr, Němětice, Strunkovice nad Volyňkou, Přední Zborovice, Radošovice, Mutěnice and Přední Ptákovice. In Strakonice the Volyňka leads after 46 km in the 390 m asl in the Otava. The catchment area of ​​426.66 km ² comprises Volyňka.

Between Lipka and Strakonice the railway line Strakonice Volary follows the river.
