Voxel-Man

VOXEL -MAN is the name of a program system for the generation and visualization of three-dimensional digital models of the human body slice images computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging or photography (eg, the Visible Human project). It was developed at the University Hospital Hamburg -Eppendorf, by Karl Heinz Höhne and employees. Its applications range from interactive digital anatomical atlases to surgical training simulators. The name is derived from the technical term voxel is denoted by the in computer graphics the basic building block of a room-filling digital object (a " three-dimensional pixels "). Occasionally the word Voxel -Man is used as a general term for a digital body model.
