Vsevolod Abramovich

Vsevolod Mikhailovich Abramovich (Russian: Всеволод Михайлович Абрамович; born July 29, 1890 in Odessa, † April 25, 1913 in Locust valley, German Empire ) was a Russian aviator and flight instructor.

Abramovich was born in Odessa and went to the school to Germany to study in Charlottenburg at the local Technical College. During this time he was also interested in aviation, took flying lessons and earned his pilot's license in 1911. He worked for the German branch of the company, the Wright Brothers, the " flying machines Wright " as the most important test pilot and took on the airfield in Johannistal a number of flights. His case gained expertise allowed him to build in 1912, also has its own airplane, which he flew in several stages to Saint Petersburg, where the machine took part in a competition of several military aircraft. In the same year he broke the altitude record for aircraft by he rose up to 2100 meters, as well as the long-term record for the transport of four passengers by a flight of 46 minutes and 57 seconds in duration.

Abramovich was killed in a crash of his machine in Johannistal killed when he gave his girlfriend, Princess Eugenie Schakowskoy, flight hours. The princess was only slightly injured. A street near the old airfield is named after Abramovich.
