Vulcano (Band)

Vulcano is a Brazilian metal band that was founded in 1981 in Santos, São Paulo under the name Astaroth. It is regarded as one of the first Brazilian representative in the extreme metal genre.

History

The band was formed by bassist ( later guitarist ) founded in 1981 Zhema Rodero, guitarist and bassist Paulo Magrão Carli Cooper under the name Astaroth. In 1983, a first 7- single with the name Om Namah Pushne was published. It was followed by some self-organized performances and with Devil on My Roof first demo in 1984. Additional regional performances in São Paulo and the changes in staff took place. In 1985, the band released the live album Live!. It was taken in August in Americana. It was the first live album from the Metal genre, which was published in Brazil. On the album were heard bassist Zhema Rodero, guitarists Soto Jr and Zé Flávio, drummer and singer Laudir Piloni Angel.

In this table also the first studio album Bloody Vengeance in 1986 was published. In the following years the band with Anthropophagy (1987 ), Who are the True (1988) and Ratrace (1990 ) published three more albums. After the release of Ratrace the band went into a break and during which only played a few, a few gigs together. While paused, the label Cogumelo Records released the previously released albums new. The band was only in 2000 together again.

In December 2001, the death of guitarist Soto Jr. was announced. In 2003, the band recorded a new album called Tales from the Black Book. Bassist was there Zhema Rodero, Angel took over the post of the singer, Arthur Vasconcelos was a drummer, and Cláudio André Martins Passamani played the electric guitars. The album was released in February 2004.

In 2005, the occupation changed again. She sat now as follows: Zhema Rodero ( electric guitar ), Angel ( vocals), Arthur Justo (drums ), Carlos Diaz ( electric bass) and Fernando Nonath ( electric guitar ). In 2006 they released the split album Metal Thunder, taken together with the Swedish band Nifelheim.

In 2009, the album Five Skulls and One Chalice was published on Cogumelo Records. The album was heard singer Luiz Carlos Louzada, which worked at Vulcano previously, so that two singers were heard on the album.

In early 2010, vocalist Angel this so that Luiz Carlos Louzada was a regular singer. Furthermore, the band consisted of Arthur Justo (drums), Zhema Rodero ( electric guitar ), Fernando Nonath ( electric guitar ) and Carlos Diaz ( electric bass).

Style

The band's music is described as a mixture of Black and Thrash Metal. The song structures are simple, the songs have an aggressive and fast character. Vulcano is compared to bands such as Protector, Messiah and bulldozers.
