About the "Plugins " menu, it is very easy to install additional plugins, and thus to extend the functionality of Vuze. Also popular are for example safe peer and Country Locator. An important function expansion is possible through the Nodezilla plugin, this allows access through to spread files without prior publication on websites on the " Nodezilla Grid Network ", " torrent. ". An experimental plugin called " Ono " of the Aqua Labs Northwestern University analyzed the network topography and attempts by intelligent selection of geographically adjacent nodes to increase the speed of yield. A modification of the Azureus client called BitTyrant a working group of the University of Washington is seeking to increase the efficiency and commutative justice through strategic preference for peers with good Hoch-/Herunterladeverhältnis ( "ratio" ).

Thanks to the added in version 2.3.0.0 Peer Exchange and DHT function ( Distributed hash table; engl. DHT - distributed hash table ) downloads are also possible if the original tracker fails, because then connections to peers ( swarming ) on DHT can be produced.

With Zudeo Azureus launched a platform for the exchange of free videos and music tracks. The project was officially renamed with Azureus 3.0 integral part of the original clients, and on 5 April 2007 in Vuze.

By integrating Vuze a break between the last version was built without Vuze ( 2.5.0.4 ) and later versions, with Vuze (3.0 ). Many users prefer the old version and have therefore never made an update to a version with Vuze. According to the statistics of some major Tracker Azureus 2.5.x to 3.x continues to enjoy a much higher popularity than Azureus However, even in the latest version of the old surface to be reset (via Tools → Configuration → Interface → Start → Show Selection surface ).
