Vyacheslav Derkach

Vyacheslav Wassyljowytsch Derkach (Ukrainian В'ячеслав Васильович Деркач, scientific transliteration Vjačeslav Vasil'ovič Derkač; born June 23, 1976 in Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union ) is a retired Ukrainian biathlete.

1994 Derkatsch denied his first competition for the Ukrainian team in the Biathlon World Cup. He could now achieve two podium finishes and seven top ten placings. He participated in four Olympic Games (1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010), in part, with his best finishes were a 23rd place in singles and seventh place in the relay in Salt Lake City. Between 1997 and 2005 he took part in all the Biathlon World Championships, the great successes were made ​​, however. Derkach is married to the Ukrainian biathlete Oxana Khvostenko and has a son. Together, they now live in Chernihiv. In 2011, he joined as a competitive athlete back due to a hip injury.
