Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov

Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Ovchinnikov (Russian Вячеслав Александрович Овчинников; * May 29, 1936 in Voronezh ) is a Russian composer.

Life

Ovchinnikov studied until 1962 at the Moscow Conservatory with Tikhon Khrennikov. He lives as a freelance composer in Moscow.

In addition to five symphonies, several symphonic poems and orchestral suites he composed a violin and a piano concerto, chamber music, piano pieces, songs and a number of major film scores (including to Andrei Rublev and Ivan's Childhood by Andrei Tarkovsky, the Bondarchuk films Boris Godunov and war and peace and the new teacher by Chingiz Aitmatov under Andrei Mikhalkov - Konchalovsky ).
