Waaxens

Waaxens ( Frisian: Waaksens ) is a small village in the municipality Dongeradeel in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is like Brantgum and Foudgum on the way from Holwerd to Dokkum and has 40 inhabitants (2008 ).

Until the local government reform of 1984 was Waaxens part of Westdongeradeel.

On the terpene of Waaxens is a church from the 14th century, which is influenced by the Gothic.
