Wäinö Wuolijoki

Hugo Robert Wäinö Wuolijoki ( born December 14, 1872 in Hauho, † December 12, 1947 ) was a Finnish ambassador and politician of the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP ).

Life

Hugo Robert Wäinö Wuolijoki was the son of Serafina Lagervik and Juho Robert Wuolijoki. He married 1911 Sylvia Roschier. For the SDP Wuolijoki sat from 1907 to 1910 in the Finnish parliament and later to the independence of Finland from 1919 to 1927 in the Finnish Parliament. 1921, 1922 and 1925 he was speaker of parliament. Before he became ambassador he was in 1926/27 for less than a year in the Ministry of Infrastructure Minister in the Cabinet Tanner. From 1927 to 1933 the Finnish Ambassador in Berlin, also accredited in Austria.

His brother Sulo Wuolijoki (1881-1957) was also a social democratic politicians and married to the politician and writer Hella Wuolijoki.
