Wallace McCain

G. Wallace F. McCain ( born April 9, 1930 in Florenceville, New Brunswick, † 13 May, 2011 Toronto, Ontario ) was a Canadian businessman and owner of McCain Foods.

Wallace McCain founded together with his brother Harrison, 1956, the Company McCain Foods in New Brunswick, one of the world's largest producer of frozen products. The company made ​​him a billionaire. In 2011, he was led by Forbes magazine on its list of billionaires at number 512 of the richest personalities.

In 1995 he took over the company, Maple Leaf Foods, which is active in the meat production, and handed over the reins to his son Michael McCain.

McCain was charitably active. He supported financially the National Ballet School and provided for the establishment of an institute at the University of New Brunswick, which is dedicated to the training of entrepreneurs.

McCain died in May 2011 from the effects of pancreatic cancer.

He was married to Margaret McCain, the first female Vice- Governor of the Province of New Brunswick, and father of four children.
