The Wallenberg (1722 m above sea level. NN ) is in Mangfallgebirge in the Bavarian Alps.

General

The Wallenberg wrote as a starting point a large haul of paragliding and hang gliding history. The Wallenberg toboggan run is Germany's longest winter toboggan run. The Wallenberg Wallenberg race on the road, one of the most famous automobile mountain race in the 1960s, has not been carried out for environmental reasons quite some time.

The rise of the Wallberg cable car station at Rottach -Egern via a saddle left over at the set mountain (1706 m) to the mountain station of the Wallbergbahn. The local Panorama Restaurant Wallberg lies in 1623 m height. After another 30 minutes you reach the top.

Except with the Wallbergbahn can cover a part of the path to the summit via a toll road in the car. Back in the early 1930s there was an attempt to build on the Wallberg cable car or a highway. The Rottacher Transport Association suggested to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior to involve the Wallbergstraße in the Configured cross Alpine Road. But the ministry refused 1934. After the abortive coup of the National Socialists in Austria in 1934, many SA men fled to Bavaria. Approximately 600 of these " Legion ," as they were called then, were used to build the Wallbergstraße. The Rottacher Transport Association as the owner paid them 40 cent per hour. From 1935 onwards, has been working hard. 1937 was the distance to the Moosalm, today's guest house Wallenberg moss, will be opened to traffic.
