Walter Klimmek

Walter Klimmek (* March 14, 1919, † 13 May 2010) was a German football player.

Klimmek was Fullback, first played at SC Hassel, 1950 before he moved to FC Schalke 04. With the Gelsenkirchen company he was in his first season West German champion. At the same time he was nicknamed " squire " of the association it all, because he worked in the main job as a miner underground at the colliery miner luck in his hometown. A total of 96 games completed Klimmek for Schalke 04 and won with the team the 1956 West German cup competition.

Until 1984, the year of his retirement, he later worked at the plant fire in Hassel coking. Most recently, he lived in Bavaria, where he died at the age of 91 and was buried in Aschheim.
