Walter Lewin

Hendrik Walter Gustav Lewin ( born January 29, 1936) is a Dutch physicist and professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Lewin earned in 1965 his Ph.D. in nuclear physics at the TU Delft. Right after he went as a post-doctoral researcher at MIT to explore astronomical X-ray radiation. He remains to this day at this university and went on the field of X-ray astronomy a name.

Special recognition was given Lewin through his philosophical physics lectures. Many of these were broadcast on U.S. television in years.
