Walter M601

The Walter M601 turboprop engine is a Czech company Walter Engines. It also represents the first turboprop engine of the company and is used for business, agricultural and military training aircraft.

History

The production of the first version (Model M601A ) began in 1975. According to several variants an extensive development of the engine was introduced in 1986 with the version M601E. In total, more than 1,500 pieces have been built.

Versions

General Electric H80

In March 2012, the now trade under GE Aviation Czech Walter Engines issued the type certificate for the further development of the M601H -80 General Electric H80 by the FAA. In November came the variants GE H75 and H85. The engines, as its name, services of 750, 800 and 850 shaft horsepower. The MTBO is 3,600 flight hours or 6,600 engine cycles.

Specifications

It concerns with the engines to counter the direction of flight perfused twin- turboprop shoots, in which two axial and centrifugal compressor stage for the gas generator to be used, which are driven by a single stage turbine. A further single stage axial power turbine drives a two-stage transmission with a reduction ratio of 15:1 to the propeller.
