Walthari

Walthari († 546) was dux ( duke ) of the Lombards 540-546 on the middle Danube.

Life

Walthari was the son of the king Wacho of the family of Lithingi ( Lethinger ) and his third wife Silinga, a daughter of Rudolf Herulerkönigs. Upon the death of his father in 540, he was still a minor, so Audoin took over the reign of the race of Gausen. Since this himself wanted the throne, he let the young Walthari after about seven years, eliminate and became its successor. Walthari was the last ruler of Lethinger Dynasty.
