Walther von Hünersdorff

Life

With this he took in July 1943 the company Citadel part. On the morning of 13 July, he was slightly wounded by a bullet grazed and in the afternoon of the same day he was severely wounded by a head shot. On July 14, he was awarded the military hospital in Kharkov with the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. He died on July 17 in the military hospital. Hünersdorff was in Kharkov, buried in the presence of his wife, who worked as a Red Cross nurse in Kharkov. At his funeral, among others, General Field Marshal Erich von Manstein Hermann Hoth and General Colonel General of Panzer troops Erhard versions were present.
