Walungu Territory

Walungu is a district in the province of Sud- Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, which abuts the north by the Sud- Kivu district Kabare, to the east by Rwanda and the Sud- Kivu Uvira District, in the south of the Sud- Kivu Mwenga district and on the west by the Sud- Kivu district Shabunda.

In the district Walungu are blue-helmet troops MONUSCO, in the context of one of the largest peacekeeping missions of the United Nations stationed there.
