Wanda dos Santos

Wanda dos Santos ( born June 1, 1932 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian athlete who was successful in the 80 - meter hurdles and long jump. She won four medals at the Pan American Games and fifteen medals at South championships, including ten gold medals.

Career

Wanda dos Santos was fourteen years old when they each the silver medal behind the Argentinean Noëmi Simonetto won at the 1947 South American Championships in Rio de Janeiro on 80 meter hurdles and the long jump. Two years later she won at the 1949 South American Championships in Lima in her two special disciplines. In the long jump Wanda dos Santos won two each of gold, silver and bronze medals at South Championships, started in 80 - meter hurdles for her 1949 winning streak of six consecutive titles, a feat that only the putter Elisangela Adriano managed to save it.

At the first Pan American Games in 1951 Wanda dos Santos won the bronze medal in the long jump behind two Chileans, the hurdles they finished fourth. In the next three sweeps, she received one hurdle medal, the second place in 1959 behind the Cuban Bertha Díaz remained her greatest success.

Wanda dos Santos participated in Helsinki in 1952 and in Rome in 1960 in the Olympic Games. In 1952 she reached the semi-finals in the hurdles and finished third in the long jump # 21, 1960, she resigned in advance of hurdle.

At a height of 1.59 meters to her competition weight was 60 kilograms.
