Wanda (Film)

Wanda is a socially critical drama and road movie from 1971, it was Barbara Loden last feature film.; she was leading actress, screenwriter and director.

Action

Wanda, a young mother of two dwells with her husband in a shack next to an open-pit mine. Since they can be the housework and does not care about her children, her husband for divorce submits to court. Wanda appears late for court. She does not mind that custody for losing their children. So she agrees. Two days later, she also still loses her job. She sits on the road.

In a bar, she does not notice that the bartender is not real. It is the opportunity crook Norman Dennis, who then takes her to his stolen car. The road movie begins. Although Norman Wanda strikes and bossing around her, she stays with the taciturn man. The result is a certain affinity between the two.

At the end of Norman forces them in a bank robbery participate. He is taken there and Wanda is alone again on the road.
