Wastefall

Wastefall is a Greek progressive rock and metal band from Athens, founded in 2003, separated in 2008 and was re-established in 2010.

History

The band was founded in March 2003 by the singers and guitarists Alex Katsiyannis and Domenik Papaemmanouil. Later, drummer and bassist George Kanavaris Ilias Kalivas joined the band. The band reached a deal with Sleaszy Rider Records and released their debut album Fallen Stars and Rising Scars on 28 July 2003. According to the release has met keyboardist Christos Kyrkilis the band. Then bassist Ilias Kalyvas was replaced by Stratos Haidos. As a violinist Matthew Dakoutros was occupied.

After some rehearsals the band went in May 2004 in the Fragile Studios to record the album Soul Rain 21, which was released on November 7 via Sleaszy Rider Records. Following the publication of Stratos Haidos left the band and was replaced by Nick Valentzis. Shortly after Matthew Dakoutros and George Kanavaris left the band. A few months later Kostis Papaleksopoulos came as the new drummer for the group.

In October 2005 the band reached an agreement with the agency Intromental management and signed a recording contract with Sensory Records. The album Self Exile was mixed and mastered in Denmark by Tommy Hansen at Jailhouse Studios in the January 2006.

The band split in 2008 and found in 2010 back together.

Style

The band plays progressive rock and metal and is compared to bands like Tool, Pain of Salvation, Dream Theater and Nevermore.
