Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong

The Wat Prathat Doi Chom Thong ( Thai: วัด พระ ธาตุ ดอย จอมทอง ) is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand.

History

Doi Chom Thong was a sacred place for a long time. Even before Buddhism was introduced here was a shrine for local spirits. As in many other Wats of Thailand are here Buddhist systems and spirits house next to each other.

In 1992, the Lak Mueang, where the city spirits are worshiped, converted from Wat Klang Wiang to Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong.
