Waveland is a city in Hancock County, Mississippi on the Gulf of Mexico in Mississippi Gulfport -Biloxi metropolitan area. Waveland has a size of 17.6 square kilometers and had a population of 6,674 before Hurricane Katrina in 2731 households (according to the census in 2000). The 3,442 houses in the town was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, after official figures were drowned about 50 inhabitants. History

Waveland was a pirate base in the 19th century. Hurricane Katrina
