WAYD is a Slovak technical death metal band. The style of music is very experimental and can hardly narrow, but is referred to by the band as Death Metal. The influences range from funk to jazz. The compositions include parts about fast Thrash Metal to pieces that are otherwise only known from bands such as Death. The band's name is an acronym for "What are you doing? "

Band History

WAYD joined together in 1994 from the thrash metal band Marion and the Death Metal band Dysentery. The basic idea was to break the boundaries between different genres and thus create different atmospheres so that everyone would find something for themselves in the music. In 1995 the first demo " Shape of Your Mind " was recorded in AD Microstudio in Prešov. Two years later, "The Ultimate Passion" recorded and produced by Metal Age. Their 2001 release, the album " Barriers ", which was mainly influenced by many Death Metal shares. Partly as a saxophone sounds on the album can be heard. The third CD ( " Decadance " ) came in the summer of 2002 on the market. On this album also saxophones and trumpets can be heard which is very unusual in Death Metal.

About all the time WAYD gave concerts in Slovakia and Poland.
