Website Meta Language

The Website Meta Language ( WML ) is a free and extensible suite of tools for generating HTML for Unix, distributed under version 2 of the GNU General Public License ( GPL). It is written in ISO C and Perl 5 and runs on all major Unix derivates without further system requirements.

WML should not be confused with the better known, also abbreviated with WML Wireless Markup Language, which is used in specially adapted to mobile phones sites.

Construction

WML consists of a front -end, the sequential use up to nine backends. Each back-end interprets a particular language. In addition, WML comes with a set of include files that provide high-level functionalities.
