Weiss (crater)

Weiss is an impact crater in the southwest of the Moon front between Mare Nubium and Palus Epidemiarum, northeast of the crater Cichus and southeast of Mercator, at the end of Rupes Mercator.

The crater is heavily eroded, north of the Wall has almost completely disappeared and the inside of the Mare Nubium open.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Austrian astronomer Edmund Weiss.
