Wellton is a town in Yuma County in the U.S. state of Arizona.

Location

Wellton is located off Interstate 8, and located 29 miles east of Yuma.

History

Wellton was founded in 1878 and in 1970 independently. In earlier times Wellton was still written as Welltown, the name was given to the town by the Southern Pacific Railroad. The village was founded by the train, in the area but was in earlier times a stagecoach station. The station is decommissioned.
