Wende (singer)

Turn Snijders, artist name, turn ( born October 10, 1978 in Beckenham, London) is a Dutch chanson singer.

Turn Snijders spent her childhood in Indonesia and Guinea- Bissau, where she attended the French School. Then she moved to the Netherlands, where in Zeist in the province of Utrecht, she attended the school and then at the Academie voor Amsterdam cabaret with a focus on French chanson studied ( completion 2002). In 2001 she won the first prize and the audience prize at the Concours de la Chanson in Amsterdam, organized by the Alliance française ( the equivalent of the Goethe Institute in Germany ). Their debut album, Quand tu dors received a 2005 Edison Award in the category Chanson / cabaret. In the same year she won the BAT Price ( new theater talent ) and the Zonta Prize. 2006 received their DVD Au suivant an Edison (Category National Music DVD ). For their second album La fille noyée of 2006, she received an Edison Jazz Award in the category of World Music. In addition to French (including songs by Jacques Brel ) she sings there also Dutch ( as avenues de Wind weet Huub van der Lubbe ), and their own songs. 2007 she sang, among others with Jenny Arean in the theater project Het Verschil, from a CD appeared ( De Liedjes uit het Verschil ).
