Werner Fischer

Werner Fischer ( born November 7, 1939 in Epfenbach, district Sinsheim ) is a German mechanical engineer and university didactics. He was from 1980 to 1990 and vice-rector from 1990 to 2005 Rector of the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe.

Life

Fischer grew up in Epfenbach 1959 and made his Abitur at Wilhelmi -Gymnasium in Sinsheim. Starting in the winter semester 1959 to February 1965 he studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. 1965 Fischer was a research assistant, research assistant in 1966 and 1970, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials at the University of Karlsruhe. In 1968 he completed his doctorate. In 1970 he moved to the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe, first as a lecturer, from 1974 as a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. From 1980 to 1990 Fischer was Vice-Rector, 1990-2005 Rector of the University of Applied Sciences.

From 1982 he was a member of the Study Commission for Higher Education, 1990 to 2006 as its Chairman. From 1990 to 1998, Fischer Member of the Board of Trustees of the Export -Akademie Baden- Württemberg and also from 1990 to 2005 on the board of the German Rectors' Conference ( RKF ) of the colleges in Baden- Württemberg. In 1991, he was the founding chairman of the working group LARS ( performance incentive systems in teaching ). From 1993 to 2007 he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Applied Sciences Pforzheim. 1998/1999 he was appointed as an expert in the teaching committee of the Science Council from 2001 to 2005 and was a member of the Central Scholarship Commission ( ZSK ) for the Baden- Württemberg scholarship from the state of Baden -Württemberg GmbH. From 1999 to 2005, Fischer Member of the Board of ASIIN and 2004-2007 Member of the Executive Board of the DAAD. Since 2006 Werner Fischer is in the University Council of the University of Education Karlsruhe, in May 2008 as its Chairman. From 2006 to 2012 was a fisherman on the jury for the program " competence areas " in North Rhine -Westphalia and since March 1988 he is member of the advisory committee of the municipality Stutensee and since end of March 2000 its chairman. In addition to his professional activities, Fischer was also involved volunteer, he was from 1973 to 1974 chairman of the citizens' initiative Stutensee from 1979 to 1984 Founding Chairman of the welfare center Stutensee- Weingarten and 1980-1994 Chairman of the FWV Group in the council of Stutensee.

Werner Fischer lives in Stutensee, is married and has three sons, one of which is Axel Fischer.
