Werner Gutzeit

Werner Gutzeit ( born December 1, 1932 in Copenhagen) is a Danish-German painter and stamp artist.

In Copenhagen he initially trained as a graphic artist and painter, then he has earned a degree in education. Initially, he worked as a graphic artist and as a teacher. Since 1982 he has been a freelance artist. He is co-founder of Heider Art Association and has many years a gallery in Delve ( Dithmar ) operated. He also illustrated several books and designed postage stamps and annual calendar for the Danish Mission Council.

Werner Gutzeit paints mainly cubist, cubism because of his view of the world corresponds. However, he also plays with other variants. He has modern icons painted and impressionistic landscapes. Many of his studies are abstract.

His trademark is since the 1950s, the " goose fish ", a mythical creature that can be found in many of his paintings and sculptures. In addition to turning figures of painted wood, he designs sound and cast sculptures. Other motifs that occur repeatedly in his work, are Harlequin, cat and pumpkin. The pumpkin symbolizes Gutzeit for the perfection of nature.
