Werner Lindemann

Werner Lindemann (* October 7, 1926; † 9 February 1993) was a German poet and writer.

Life

Werner Lindemann was born into a family of peasants and grew up in the estate village Altjeßnitz on in Wolfen. At 15, he was farming apprentice with a large-scale farmers and 1943-1945 soldier. After 1945 he studied natural sciences in Halle and was from 1949 agricultural vocational school teachers, then lecturer and upper speaker. He studied from 1955 to 1957 at the Institute of Literature " Johannes R. Becher " in Leipzig and was then editor of the student magazine "Forum " House of Culture director and freelance writer since 1959. As co-founder of the artists' colony he lived more than 20 years in Drispeth.
